Red Cross Blood Drive: One of the most successful of all Red Cross locations, PHPC members and members of the community participate in three drives per year, donating nearly 100 pints each time. Clifton Sanctuary Ministries: Begun in 1979, Clifton is the first and oldest faith-based emergency shelter for homeless men in Atlanta. On the first Friday of every month, PHPC members provide a meal to the 30 men who reside at Clifton. www.cliftonsanctuary.com
Duluth Co-Op/Hands of Christ: The ministry, which was formed in 1992 by 10 area churches including PHPC and is located 5 miles from the church, provides aid for people in the community with urgent physical, economic, social and spiritual needs. PHPC members often volunteer their time by collecting monthly food donations and volunteering at Co-Op’s food pantry. www.duluthco-op.org
Family Promise: In partnership with 17 other Gwinnett County churches, PHPC offers housing and meals to families in need while they transition from sudden economic hardship and poverty to obtaining jobs, job and educational skills, and a place to live. For more information, visit our Family Promise page.Rainbow Village: This transitional community supports families in need with housing, career skills building, care for children and youth among other initiatives. The After-School Program is housed at PHPC during the week, Monday-Friday. Meals, provided by several Gwinnett County churches, are provided to families on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the year. PHPC members provide the meal for the third Tuesday of every month.
