Offerings During Worship: Worship is the primary place where we dedicate our material goods of tithes and offerings to be used to further the work of the church. During each worship service an offering is received from the congregation. Worshipers give as they are able to fund the various ministries of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian.
Online Giving: Monetary gifts can be made anytime through an online transfer of funds.
Annual Pledges: God calls us to be faithful in our giving. We examine what our commitment to the church means each year during our annual Stewardship season. Church members make a yearly pledge of money, time, and talent to support the many ministries of our church, both inside our walls and in the greater community. The PC(USA) Book of Order says, “Those who follow the discipline of Christian stewardship will find themselves called to lives of simplicity, generosity, honesty, hospitality, compassion, receptivity, and concern for the earth and God’s creatures.”
How Much Do I Give? Along with any real commitment comes a deep sense of joy. The biblical standard of giving is 10% of your income. Our members give what feels right to them as they dedicate themselves to following Christ.
What is a MAP? A Ministry Action Plan (MAP) is a tool used by church leadership to help frame the church budget within the larger context of the ministry of the church. A MAP identifies who we are at PHPC, clarifies what we are about, mobilizes a plan to move forward and allows for timely review and revision. PHPC’s Session committees faithfully discern how their particular ministries embody the church’s vision to “Connect Faith with Everyday Life.”

What is a Legacy Gift and How Will the Church Use It?
A legacy gift is something you include in your estate plan. You can name the church as a recipient in your will, as a life insurance beneficiary, or in the disbursal of an IRA fund. Gifting property, stocks or bonds may also be a means of giving.
Legacy gifts become part of PHPC’s Endowment Fund. Your gift will support ministries within the church, mission services beyond our congregation, and preserve and maintain the facilities of the church. You may choose to designate your gift to any of the above areas of broad scope and objective.
What are the Advantages of Legacy Gifts?
For the Donor:
You create an expression of your deepest convictions.
You know you are contributing to ministries for generations to come.
You remain secure with your current income or current assets.
You provide potential tax benefits for you and your heirs.
For the Church:
Perpetual support is received for the growth and viability of ministries at PHPC.
Financial stability is ensured for the future of PHPC.
Getting Started on Your Legacy Gift
Our pastors would be pleased to meet with you to talk more about a legacy gift. Contact them at the church office. You may also consult with Robert Hay Jr., the local representative of the Presbyterian Foundation, an organization that specializes in planned giving. Also, consult with your legal/financial adviser as you begin to make giving plans.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21
“The Christian life is an offering of one’s self to God. In worship the people are presented with the costly self-offering of Jesus Christ, are claimed and set free by him, and are led to respond by offering to him their lives, their particular gifts and abilities, and their material goods. Worship should always offer opportunities to respond to Christ’s call to become disciples by professing faith, by uniting with the church, and by taking up the mission of the people of God, as well as opportunities for disciples to renew the commitment of their lives to Jesus Christ and his mission in the world”
