Pastoral Care Mission Statement:
We share God’s love and grace by providing spiritual and emotional comfort, care, and support to the church community.
Our Pastoral Care team responds compassionately to members experiencing crisis or long-term challenges. Please alert the church office to any care concerns or in an emergency call the pastoral care emergency number (678) 916-7147.
Pastoral Care Ministries
A Stitch & A Prayer: Members gather once a month to knit prayer shawls and cancer caps for people who are recovering from an illness or dealing with a terminal illness. Knowing how to knit or crochet is not required. We have yarn, patterns, needles, and lots of prayer and fellowship to share!
Caregivers Support Groups: Taking care of loved ones who are ill or dealing with a variety of medical issues is difficult. Our general Caregiver Support Group meets on the fourth Sunday of each month from 5:30pm-7 pm in the Bride’s Room. Our Spouse Caregiver Support Group meets on the third Sunday of each month from 3pm-4:30 pm in the Bride’s Room. These groups provide an opportunity for caregivers to share their story and receive unconditional love and support from others.
Grief Support Group: The Grief Support Group provides a confidential, structured environment to explore the complex feelings that accompany the loss of a loved one. Led by trained lay ministers and the Associate Pastor for Congregational Care, the group meets eight consecutive weeks.
Lotsa Helping Hands: When a church member needs a meal, a ride to the doctor or another special request, our volunteers provide assistance. Lotsa Helping Hands publishes requests and solicits volunteers. If you’re interested in joining this ministry, please click here.
Prayer Chain: Prayer nurtures our relationship with God and God’s people. Praying together, we discover that Christ is present, binding us as a community of faith. When we pray for others, we discover a new dimension of the discipline of prayer. We maintain a Prayer Chain email list that distributes prayer requests to all who wish to actively pray for fellow church members and friends. Please call the church office if you would like to be added to the prayer chain distribution list and contact a pastor if you have a prayer request for the prayer chain.
Stephen Ministry: Trained Stephen Ministers provide Christ centered support to individuals going through a difficult time. Please contact the Associate Pastor for Congregational Care to inquire about receiving care or training to become a Stephen Minister.
